Are there ads in ChatGPT now?
Yes. OpenAI is rolling ads out gradually, starting with free tiers and selected countries. They appear below the answer and are clearly labeled.
Who sees them?

Do ads change the answers?
No. Ads never change ChatGPT's answers - they sit below the reply, clearly labeled.
Is conversation data shared with advertisers?
No. OpenAI states that conversations are not shared with advertisers. We see clicks and the leads that land on your site - nothing else.
Which countries?
Per OpenAI, as of today: self-serve Ads Manager is open to advertisers based in Israel, the United States, the UK, most of Europe and the other countries on its list. OpenAI's country list
Is there a minimum spend?
Not from us. OpenAI sets a minimum daily budget per campaign, by currency: 60 ILS, 25 USD, 15 EUR or 15 GBP, for example. What ChatGPT Ads cost
Can a small business advertise?
Yes, if OpenAI's daily minimum fits your budget. The Starter plan exists for exactly that.
How fast can we go live?
You give us your website, we build the campaign, you review every line, and it goes live as soon as your ad account is approved.
Who owns the account?
You own the ad account, pixel and data. We work through permissioned access.
What happens after 3 months?
The initial term ends and you move to month-to-month with 30 days' notice. The ad account, pixel and data stay yours either way.
What will a lead cost?
With few advertisers in this auction, cost per lead is low for now. Yours we can't predict yet: give it 90 days and you'll know it precisely.
Why do you need a credit card for the trial?
So your campaign keeps running the day the trial ends. Nothing is charged for the first 14 days, you can cancel free until then, and after that comes a 3-month commitment.
